Cody is looking for the perfect match!

Cody / 2 years old / Male / Neutered and up to date on vaccines / Crate Trained / House Trained / Not destructive, very smart, loyal!

This handsome boy is Cody! He is patiently waiting for the right family to love him and guide him.

Cody has been with us for a year, and came into our rescue with very special needs.  This poor boy did not have a good start in life. He was adopted by a nice family that felt sorry for him, but were unable to provide the guidance he needed. He was place into a wonderful, supportive foster family, and because of covid, he was able to remain with Joe and Jinette, for the past year.

It is now time for Cody to find a family of his own.  He needs someone who will appreciate what a lovely boy he is, and understands that he will need their time and support to continue to become the dog he was meant to be.

The following is a write from Joe about him:

“When our foster dog Cody joined us, he was a scared little boy, anxious about everything and scared of the world. Over the past year he has made tremendous progress. Cody loves to give kisses, is a smart dog and learns quickly. He knows sit, down, paw, stay, good at recall (but could use a little more work). He is not food aggressive and stays off the furniture. Although crate trained, he is very good at staying home alone without being crated and there have been no messes in the house during his stay with us. He is great walking to heal and will stay close on the left while walking , when stopped during the walk he will sit and wait for the heal command to continue. Much of his anxiety towards encountering people on walks has passed, but he still gets very anxious when he encounters other dogs. We have worked with a trainer to assist us with this aspect of his behaviour and he is responding very well, but will require additional work to continue to build his confidence.

We have enjoyed having Cody in our home, as he tries very hard to please  and responds well to verbal direction. While he has made great strides, he still needs more work on leash reactivity and is protective when people come to the door. Unfortunately, the current covid situation has impacted our ability to work on this as we have tried to make him more comfortable when we have visitors”.

If you are looking for a smart dog with a personality that learns quickly, with a little patience and further training Cody would be a great choice!

Cody will do best in a setting with only adults and no other pets as he needs a family with the  time to give him the attention he needs.

If you think you might be the right choice for our

Cody, please fill out an application online .

His adoption fee will be put toward some further training to help his new family make this a perfect transition.

This lovely boy is definitely worth the effort, and we will be there to make sure it works out.

Cody is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
